Welcome to the Writing and Argumentation Center! The Writing and Argumentation Center (CEA), an open house for language, provides support to the entire university community regarding writing processes and argumentation skills for academic and professional life.
This center seeks to raise awareness about the importance of (self)learning strategies in the fields of writing and argumentation, with an emphasis on developing communication skills grounded in critical thinking.
The CEA provides various academic support services to students, research professors, and UAM Cuajimalpa staff. The CEA team hopes this page will be very useful to you. Furthermore, we invite you to take advantage of the various experiences we offer to consolidate your written and oral communication skills.
Writing centers are high-impact academic support spaces that, through advisement sessions and other services, provide guidance to community members across the diverse writing processes unique to each discipline.
In December 2014, UAM-Cuajimalpa inaugurated the first writing center in a Mexican public university: the Writing and Argumentation Center (CEA). Since its founding, it has addressed specific challenges concerning academic writing and argumentative skills within the framework of the UAM educational model.
Since March 2020, the CEA has integrated a virtual model for education and academic support that complements and enriches the community dynamics and integration upon which this space was built.
The regular operating hours of the Writing and Argumentation Center (CEA) are from 08:00 to 16:00 hrs in-person.
Due to the health contingency derived from COVID-19, all in-person activities are suspended until further notice. Communication and contact with the CEA are currently via email. Likewise, courses and workshops will continue to be offered virtually during the T21-O term, although in-person activities will gradually resume.
