The black panther (panthera onca) is the symbolic mascot of UAM. In our Campus, it is known by the name Oncahui, formed by the words ONCA, representing the black jaguar, and CÁHUITL, which means time.
It was the idea of Gabriel Gutiérrez de la Cruz, an undergraduate student in Socioterritorial Studies, who won the contest "Name the mascot costume of the Cuajimalpa Campus", held in 2011.
